About Us

Coromandel Fishing

Skipper Mark Archer knows the waters at Coromandel very well and will guide you to prime fishing spots. Mark's aim is to give you the best quality fishing experience out in Coromandel or offer you an ideal platform for any sea going event. Using the most up to date technology to enhance the possibility of good catches, he trusts that the stay will be the most enjoyable fishing trip you could ever hope to have.

Mark was a dairy farmer for 35 + years till injury forced a change of life style. Charter fishing seemed a good idea, the biggest buzz was taking people new to fishing and kids, watching and helping them catch fish.

Why Coromandel?

Coromandel Fishing

Coromandel boasts some of the country's best quality and variety of fishing within a relatively small area. With an East and West Coast, plenty of bays and islands for protection you can be sure that on most days you will find somewhere to fish.

Whether it is surfcasting from the beach for Kahawai, sitting amongst mussel farms catching a feed of Snapper, live baiting for Kingfish around current swept headlands or heading further a field to chase that elusive Marlin or Tuna, The Coromandel pretty much has it all. There's also a regular calendar of fishing competitions to chance your arm against other anglers.

Whilst we take fishing seriously, our main aim is for everybody on board to have a safe enjoyable day and go home with some fish for the table. Regardless of your experience, we'll do our best to ensure you have an excellent day out.

About Us

We were formerly dairy farmers in the Waikato for over 25 years, until injury forced us to make a dramatic change in our lives. What to do was the big question. Both of us have a passion for fishing, motor bike riding (on and off road), the Coromandel and people, so the logical thing to do was to put all these things together into one package. That’s how "why worry" came to be. Charter fishing seemed a good idea, thought I would make a whole lot of new friends doing something I have great passion about. The hours especially in the summer are longer than i was a dairy farmer but it’s a good lifestyle and its loads of fun taking a good bunch of people out fishing. But the pressure is on you to find them fish and some of the time especially in winter that can be hard work. The biggest buzz is taking people new to fishing and kids, watching and helping them catch fish is great i love it. Other sports of interest are motorbike riding, dirt, road, it’s awesome fun, any kind of racquet sports are a bit of me.

We are both easy going, fun loving kiwis. Jennifer does speak Dutch as well. Both Mark and Jennifer are trained first aiders so in the event of any accidents or illness we will be able to offer assistance and get any help you may require.
